On the occasion of the New Year 2026, Jharkhand Foundation Kendra (JFK) organized a blanket distribution campaign to support physically challenged individuals and widows from economically weaker sections of society. The program was successfully conducted with the support and coordination of the Block Development Officer (BDO), Chas Block, ensuring proper identification and outreach to the intended beneficiaries. Considering the severe winter conditions and their adverse impact on vulnerable groups, this initiative aimed to provide protection, comfort, and dignity to those most in need. Under this campaign, a total of 20 beneficiaries, including physically challenged persons and widows, were provided with warm blankets. The involvement of the BDO office helped in maintaining transparency, smooth implementation, and effective beneficiary management. This New Year welfare initiative highlighted Jharkhand Foundation Kendra’s commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development. By benefiting 20 vulnerable individuals, the program not only addressed an immediate winter need but also spread a message of care, compassion, and hope as the community welcomed the New Year 2026.

Sharing Happiness – Honoring the Kumhar Who Illuminate Our Diwali https://blog.jharkhandfoundationkendra.org/2025/10/20/sharing-happiness-honoring-the-kumhar-who-illuminate-our-diwali/ https://blog.jharkhandfoundationkendra.org/2025/10/20/sharing-happiness-honoring-the-kumhar-who-illuminate-our-diwali/#respond Mon, 20 Oct 2025 11:00:00 +0000 https://blog.jharkhandfoundationkendra.org/?p=334

As the festival of lights approaches, every home across India prepares to glow with the gentle warmth of Diyas, the small clay lamps that symbolize the victory of light over darkness and goodness over evil. But behind each flickering flame is a story often untold, the story of the Kumhar, the humble potters who shape these symbols of hope with their bare hands and boundless dedication.

This Diwali, Jharkhand Foundation Kendra (JFK), in collaboration with Sangam Bharat NGO, took a heartfelt initiative to facilitate and honor the local Kumhar who have been tirelessly crafting Diyas for generations. These artisans, often seen selling their creations along the streets and marketplaces, spend days and nights away from the comfort of their homes so that our homes may shine bright on Diwali night. Their simple stalls become beacons of tradition amidst the glitter of electric lights and modern decorations. Yet, many of them struggle to earn a livelihood despite their invaluable contribution to preserving our cultural heritage. Recognizing their dedication, Jharkhand Foundation Kendra and Sangam Bharat NGO came together to extend a token of appreciation and love, offering them gifts of recognition and heartfelt thanks for keeping this beautiful tradition alive.

The felicitation ceremony was not just about appreciation; it was a moment of reflection and gratitude. It reminded everyone present that these artisans are the real torchbearers of India’s cultural legacy. Their art connects generations and brings communities together under the shared glow of Diwali.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Jaydev Kumar Mahato (Executive Director of JFK), emphasized the need to support and promote local artisans by buying handmade diyas instead of factory-made ones. Each diya molded by a Kumhar carries not just clay and fire, but emotion, devotion, and livelihood.

Ultimately, their Parents met with the Executive Director of JFK, Dr. Jaydev Kumar Mahato.  Upon receiving the information, he wasted no time verifying the claim and contacting the local authorities. Story of Thirsty village – Water For all https://blog.jharkhandfoundationkendra.org/2024/06/05/story-of-thirsty-village-water-for-all/ https://blog.jharkhandfoundationkendra.org/2024/06/05/story-of-thirsty-village-water-for-all/#respond Wed, 05 Jun 2024 07:49:08 +0000 https://blog.jharkhandfoundationkendra.org/?p=17

Someone has rightly said “Where there is a will there is a way“, and the team of Jharkhand Foundation Kendra, Pindrajora proved this to be true.
Pindrajora village has been facing a shortage of drinking water for years, but this time the extreme heat has made the villagers miserable. To quench their thirst every day, the villagers have to carry water from about three kilometers away. The villagers appealed to the government, political parties, and government officers several times regarding this matter, but did not get any help. Finally, the villagers, under the leadership of Dr. Jaydev Kumar Mahato (Executive Director, Jharkhand Foundation Kendra) appealed to the Chairman of Rotary Club Bokaro, Mr. Ashok Taneja for help. Finally, with the immediate help of Rotary Club Bokaro, within 15 days, a villager reformed the well lying unused for 40 years in the village and arranged for drinking water for themselves. Today, on the occasion of World Environment Day, 2024, this newly constructed well was inaugurated by planting a tree by Mr. Sandeep Shinde (IFS Bokaro), Rotary Club Bokaro, RCC Olgara, Jharkhand Foundation Center and the villagers of Pindrajora.
