In a heartfelt tribute to the memory of late Suman Roy, a passionate young cricketer from the village of Radhagaown, Panchayat of Bokaro District, the local community came together to organize a friendly yet spirited cricket tournament on 15/6/2025. The tournament not only honored his love for the game but also celebrated the unity and spirit of the village. Teams from neighboring villages participated enthusiastically, showcasing sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent.
To inspire and guide the young participants, motivational speakers Dr. Jaydev Kumar Mahato from Jharkhand Foundation Kendra, a well-known NGO working for education, youth empowerment, and skill development, were invited as special guests. The speakers shared inspiring stories about the importance of dedication, hard work, and following one’s passion against all odds, values that Suman himself deeply believed in. The guests appreciated the villagers’ initiative in promoting both sports and positive social values among rural youth. They also emphasized how such community-driven events help in building confidence and a healthy competitive spirit among young people.
